Must See TV: CNN on Pork
December 7th, 2005 by MaxWe have a new “Bridge to Nowhere” to fight. Behind the lead of Republican Senator Thad Cochran, Congress plans to take $13 million from their Katrina relief spending and use it to build a new museum celebrating the Army Corps of Engineers.
That’s the same Army Corps of Engineers that is in large part to blame for the levees breaking down in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. This Congress knows no bounds when it comes to pork spending. Who but a boundless Congress would think it is appropriate to spend part of the money being used to fix the damage caused by the breaking of government levees to celebrate the very government agency that was unable to build levees that don’t work right?
You know pork spending is out of control when CNN joins the fight.
Here’s a CNN TV segment that captures this pork story.
