FreedomWorks activists featured prominently

December 12th, 2005 by Alexander Zozos

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) is a group of over 100 Congressmen chaired by Mike Pence (R-IN) which is in favor of limited government. This group made headlines earlier this year when it defied leadership in the wake of Hurricane Katrina which said, “My answer to those that want to offset the [Katrina relief] spending is sure, bring me the offsets, I’ll be glad to do it. But nobody has been able to come up with any yet.” Well that was until the RSC on Sept. 21, 2005 held “Operation Offset” and listed numerous instances of government waste that occurred and that could be pared down in the face of a disaster. This event garnered a great deal of attention and was a step towards limited government.

FreedomWorks activists from Oregon, Utah, and Washington helped partake in the event offering the background holding up signs that read, “Victims over Pork”, and “Support Operation Offset.” Pictures of this event are featured on the new homepage of the RSC Republican Study Committee Homepage
