Activist Training Seminar in Indiana!

January 31st, 2006 by Brendan Steinhauser

Join us for a Grassroots Seminar on Feb. 7th and Lobby for Telecom Reform on Feb. 8th in Indianapolis

The grassroots seminar is Tuesday, and we will be lobbying at the capitol on Wednesday. Lunch will be provided both days. Find out how you can make a difference in Indiana!

As you know, telecom reform has been introduced and debated in the state House and Senate. SB 245 is moving through the Indiana legislature, but we need your help to ensure that this legislation will become law.

This bill seeks to promote growth and competition among all technologies and would specifically address the problem of costly and burdensome local franchise laws that make it difficult for new providers to compete with local cable television companies.

The result of reform? Cable consumers like you will have more choices, better service, and lower prices!

On Tuesday, February 7th, FreedomWorks will host a grassroots training seminar to educate you about the issue, and teach you how to effectively lobby the legislature. The seminar will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Courtyard Marriot located at 501 West Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis.

On Wednesday, February 8th, FreedomWorks staff and members will meet at the state capitol to testify on SB 245. Following the lobbying efforts, there will be lunch and a discussion with FreedomWorks staff about how Indiana residents can become more active in the legislative process.
