Washington Post supports offshore energy exploration

June 29th, 2006 by Brendan Steinhauser

In an editorial Wednesday The Washington Post stated that it supports exploration of energy off our coastline to reduce our foreign dependence on oil and gas. The plan would increase our domestic energy supply, thus driving down prices and creating new jobs.

Rep. Pombo from California penned this op-ed for The Washington Times in support of the plan.

As both the Post and Rep. Pombo argue, drilling for natural gas is an especially safe means of reducing our dependence on foreign energy sources.

FreedomWorks has been engaged in a campaign to pass legislation that would allow for exploration off the OCS. The House is voting on the bill today, so please contact your Rep. now!
