Big Government Advocate Schwarz Goes Down in Michigan!

With the defeat of incumbent Joe Schwarz (MI-7), voters in Michigan sent a strong signal that advocates of big government and more spending are in for a big disappointment in this Congressional mid-term election. FreedomWorks engaged in a good deal of voter education surrounding this race as our activists in Michigan waged a grassroots campaign to expose Rep. Joe Schwarz’s liberal record.
In the last two weeks over two dozen FreedomWorks activists pounded the pavement in a massive door-to-door voter education drive. Our activists handed out literature explaining the differences between the liberal Schwarz and the conservative Walburg.
FreedomWorks distributed almost six thousand pieces of literature door-to-door and at high traffic areas such as shopping centers.
Hopefully this election sends a message to other big government advocates (both republicans and democrats) that voters are tired of more government and lack of leadership on critical issues such as fundamental tax reform and stopping the raid on social security. Great job to FreedomWorks activists for their hard work, and to the Club for Growth who led the “air war†with a major ad campaign.
