Maryland Attorney General Dings Net Neutrality
February 28th, 2007 by Brendan SteinhauserThe Maryland Attorney General just issued an opinion saying that “net neutrality” legislation would be preempted by a federal law on the issue. The AG stated, “the general conflict with the stated policies of Congress and of the FCC would also likely to lead to a decision by the FCC to preempt any attempt on the part of a State to impose the type of requirements discussed in the first portion of the bill.”
Coupled with our testimony, the AG opinion has dealt a severe blow to the net neutrality scheme in Maryland.
