Dynamic Scoring bill moves in Texas
April 16th, 2007 by Brendan SteinhauserWe are glad to report that the dynamic scoring bill (HB 2786) has been voted out of the House Ways and Means Committee. This bill, sponsored by Rep. Ken Paxton would require that dynamic scoring be used to determine the affect on revenue of each bill passed by the legislature. Most calculations in both state and federal legislatures are static scoring, which do not take into account the economic benefits of policies such as tax cuts. This bill would be a positive step in educating Texans about the economic growth and increased government revenue that result from tax cuts.
Please call your state lawmakers and tell them to support this bill, HB 2786.
