The issue of flying the confederate flag? Economic issues have been squeezed out of this debate almost entirely in favor of trying to get these guys fighting with each other and making them appear foolish. Debates like this should help voters determine where candidates stand on important issues and even on Iraq, abortion, and immigration the moderators are more interested in playing “gotcha” than finding out where they stand and determining their level of sincerity.
