Ten Questions with Tom Tancredo
June 1st, 2007 by Peter DeeryPresidential candidate and anti-immigration enthusiast Tom Tancredo (R-CO) fields ten questions from people across the country for an article by TIME magazine. While the focus of the questions are on our illegal immigration problem, he does field a question on global warming. His response is interesting because he equates global warming to our illegal immigration problem:
I have no doubt that global warming exists. I just question the cause and what we can do to ameliorate it. But I wonder why the Sierra Club isn’t going crazy about the environmental aspects of massive immigration into the U.S. The fact is, Americans consume more energy than anyone else, so if a person moves here from another country, they automatically become bigger polluters.
