Massachusetts Factor

CNN looks at Republican Mitt Romney and how being from Massachusetts benefits the presidential hopeful in the New Hampshire primary. The article cites historical examples such as in 1988 where Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis won the primary, in 1992 where Senator Paul Tsongas won and in 2004 where John Kerry notched a victory. It will be interesting to see what role geography plays, if any, in the GOP race in this early primary. Especially since New Hampshire is the site where John McCain scored a surprising upset victory over President Bush in the 2000 race.
