Amendment Passes, Welcoming Felons to America!
June 8th, 2007 by Jessica IrwinA substitute amendment to the White-House backed immigration bill, sponsored by Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) passed in the Senate on Wednesday. Senator Kennedy’s amendment will block some criminals, like terrorist supporters, from getting a Z visa but will allow illegal aliens who have used fraudulent documents or ignored court ordered deportation to gain legal status.
Senator John Cornyn (R- Tex.), also sponsored an amendment, one that would
deny felons legal status. This includes those who
defy deportation orders from a U.S. judge, those who used fraudulent documents to obtain work and sex offenders.
Sen. Cornyn’s amendment was defeated 51-46 because Democrats believe it
would gut the bill because up to half the illegal immigration population likely had run-ins with Immigration and Custom Enforcement officials, or misused identification documents.
Sen. Cornyn believes this group will include sex offenders and drunk drivers.
Presidential Candidate Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), and ten other Republicans, voted against Cornyn’s amendment to deny felons legal status, tacitly voting in favor of granting felons amnesty.
Great! That’s just what this country needs! More felons overcrowding the already-full jails! I’m glad to see the members of the Senate support and obey our laws here in the United States. I know this is the Land of the Free, but not the land of the free-to-get-by-with-murder!
Thursday, the Senate could not get enough votes to end debate and speed the bill to final passage. Overall, it appears that the Senate calendar is too full to debate the Immigration bill anymore. Immigration still remains a huge issue. However, it has just been put on the back burner.

It is ashame that we can’t use the old tar and feathers on the democarts and a few republicans that have demonstrated how unamerican and will do anything for a vote.

What of the law billing employees $2000 for each illegal immigrant working for him? I am sorry, there is no such thing as an illegal “guest”. The only person in the whole USA doing positive things for OUR VETS is not even American born but Arnold Schwartzenegger. What is that? Tea? One if by land, two if by sea? Anybody want to take America back for Americans & have a return to we the people instead of We, Corporate America, having paid off Congress & the President******

Whatever happened to protecting our borders? That is Constitutional!!! This is insane. How does McCain have the gall to face the electorate after that vote to allow felons to remain in our country?

I see illegals every day at my job as a bail bondsman.
They break EVERY LAW ON THE BOOKS. Child molesting, rape, aggravated assault, TONS of drunk driving and TONS of drug dealers. It makes ME SICK.
THat dam border fence needs to be BUILT NOW. Bringing drug resistant disease into the country, straining our healthcare system to the verge of breaking. Bankrupting ambulance companies, hospitals etc etc. IT HAS TO STOP!!!! Illegal mothers getting their teenage daughters raped so they will get pregnant and get to stay because the bastard was born here.

When was the last time a “guest” snuck into your house forced you to feed, clothe, and provide healthcare, education in their choice of language and historical belief and asked to have the sdame rights and priviledges as YOU (a legal resident) have? How many jobs could Americans have if not “filled” by some one who should not have been here ILLEGALLY in the first place? Illegal is illegal, don’t like the law then fight to change it, you do not have the right to choose which laws you agree with and ignore the ones you don’t, with the excuse of “a small percent of people feel this is acceptable.” You will not go to Frace, Germany, China etc. and TELL them “you will now take care of me ’cause I am here” (against your laws), you will now speak English, and we will protest in your streets until we get what we want. The first strike is ignoring the American People and saying “we will break your laws but we will be good citizens.”
