Washington Post Editors Get It Wrong on Cap and Trade
June 14th, 2007 by Brendan SteinhauserToday’s lead editorial in The Washington Post called for a carbon tax or cap and trade system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Have they not read the recent Congressional Budget Office report about cap and trade? As the report notes, such a system would have huge economic costs, cost Americans jobs and transfer wealth from the poor to the rich. It would be all economic pain for no environmental gain.
