Democratic candidates: timeless…like Robert Byrd

August 19th, 2007 by Matt Hittle

After arriving back in Iowa, I had about a week’s respite from the presidential candidates.

This morning, in fact, I watched the Democratic Debate at Drake University in Des Moines.

I learned so many new things- first, that George Stephanopoulos could give John Edwards a run for his money in the “hair” category. Second, that Joe Biden likes to yell. Third, that Hillary Clinton has fine taste for snazzy power suits……….

………………Oh yeah, and they’re all still socialists.

So all the Dem candidates are still socialists, eh? Gee, Matt, you sound almost surprised. I haven’t watched that much of the Democratic “debates” yet, mainly because they haven’t really been debating, at least not any real significant issues and certainly not to any depth. They’re still posturing against one another and pandering to the public, aided and abetted by such things as video questions on YouTube and softball moderators from the more lilberal-friendly alphabet networks. I do know they’ve all declined appearing in a debate hosted by Fox News. Gee wilikers, if they’re hesitant to stand up to some questioning by someone like Britt Hume (who, admittedly, is tall and somewhat imposing but seems a nice guy and I’m sure would be respectful), how can they expect us to believe they would be able to stand up to all the bad guys out there who want to blow us up? I guess when they get really serious about debating the issues, I’ll get really serious about hearing what they have to say.
