Taking on the trial lawyers in Washington State
October 17th, 2007 by Brendan SteinhauserFreedomWorks members in the Northwest are educating voters about R-67, an attempt by the trial lawyers to cash in. The election is November 6th, and our members will be educating voters about the harm that this referendum would cause to Washington State.
From the Reject R-67 website:
Referendum 67 creates new opportunities and lucrative incentives for lawyers to sue insurance companies. R-67 was written by trial lawyers to benefit trial lawyers. R-67 will increase insurance rates statewide by $650 million for home and auto policies, or up to $205 per family. Consumers will pay more so lawyers can collect fatter fees.
