One minor pick before I get to the topic. There is no date on your posts, so it is only a wild guess as to when you posted an article. A date would be helpful.

I cringe when I read posts that say dems are bad and republicans are oh-so-great. They seem to talk to themselves about themselves looking at the issue only from their point of view. Oh-just-so-nice-to-be-you-and- live-in-your-bubble.

As a conservative, I am looking for why we have a program and how to provide the best plan. The issue of SCHIP can be looked at another way - not sighted in your article. The SCHIP expansion would include pregnant women, a true conservative positive choice because it extends health care to the unborn.

The Republican controlled congress wasted $100 Bil on wasteful reconstruction in Iraq, but not a drop for our own citizens. Who is kidding whom in the dollar race?

I would like to distribute all Federal health programs under a single comprehensive umbrella that would be managed by competing health care payers. Under this competitive system families and individuals could purchase health care benefits -- the minimum benefit would include preventative medicine, regular dentistry, substance abuse counseling.

Everyone would have to pay something unless they were desperately poor, on unemployment, or very sick. Overall, govt management expenditures and costs would be reduced and more individuals would begin to take control of their health care.
