Happenings from Texas

October 30th, 2007 by Brendan Steinhauser

My friends in The Young Conservatives of Texas often send me updates from the front lines of their battles with the left on college campuses. Here is a round-up of events and news from the best state in the U.S.

1. Chris Simcox returned to The University of Texas at San Antonio to talk about illegal immigration. His speech was not well received by the left there, as this video shows. My position is that whoever is with Che, I am against.

2. Dinesh D’Souza is speaking at my alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin, on November 8th. His topic? Christianity, Islam, The War on Terror. I doubt that Dinesh will get a better reception than Simcox. His intellectual prowess and wit strike fear into the heart of liberals. Details here.

3. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is in Austin today, raising money for Democrats and praising the liberals in the city for being so eco-friendly. The Austin American-Statesman quotes Pelosi, “The boast of a clean energy capital of the nation is a very legitimate one.” And you thought Austin’s “Live Music Capital of the World” designation couldn’t be topped? C’mon, receiving praise from the Goracle and Pelosi is far better!

Just to follow up - Chris Simcox also spoke at the University of North Texas this week, hosted by the YCT chapter there.

Nancy, having our American military men & women taken care of is far greater than boasting of clean energy. Morally & ethically our nation’s capital has used our young men & women & cast them aside as rubbish, even demanding repayment of “incentives” paid when joined the military when came home hurt, injured & unable to serve any longer. Tell me, oh Great One (in your own mind), do y’all go the the widows, widowers, children of those that don’t return alive & demand repayment? oh, has that one slipped past you. I bring to your attention HR 1585 & request you remove your “add on” & quickly pass it through as a clean bill, instead of playing who has the biggest which is extremely unflattering in a man, and even worse in a woman. The people of the USA are for our military men & women, and your actions speak far louder than words ever will, & it certainly is not favorable toward anyone there at the moment with over more than 120 dead vets every single week during the year 2005 & still extremely high. Genocide? By our own Congress? Maybe one at a time, but a mass grave that defies any found any where on any foreign soil except Germany during WWII. Your very position in not passing the bill without despicable tactics is far louder than any words you may ever utter. Perhaps it will be posted on your grave. Here lies the woman who killed ***********American military men & women, because the longer you delay & your pary with you, the more the death toll mounts
