More on the Law of the Sea Treaty
November 2nd, 2007 by Brendan SteinhauserThis is a great piece from CEI’s Doug Bandow on the Law of the Sea Treaty, which is a collectivist document that could lead to a global tax on Americans. Taxation without representation, anyone? As Doug points out,
“Enshrining collectivism as international law to be enforced by a mini-me United Nations would be as foolish as it would be costly.”
One of the worst things about the treaty is that some energy companies and president Bush are supporting it. This is an anti-freedom treaty, plain and simple.
