Milton Friedman: Winning Debates from the Grave

Naomi Klein is a sort of hilarious far-left pundit whose most recent book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, argues that cruel Milton Friedman free-market types use major disasters to advance a nefarious free-market agenda. I call her hilarious because, though she gets pretty good press, her ideas are so outlandish that no one of real importance takes her terribly seriously, so she’s sort of fun to have around as an example of wacky liberal ideas taken to their laughable extreme. All this is to say that I find it pretty amusing to see her lose a mashed-up debate to a dead guy:

    Klein is NOT championing communism, or socialism for that matter…she is championing a mixed economy. Freidman is an idiot…I’m glad he’s gone…now we can all move on. We can, and frequently do, collectively do more good together than most individuals can do while truly on their own.
