To all of you following the effort to get Jeff Flake on the House Appropriations Committee, there is some good news to report. Our efforts have connected thousands of constituents with their congressional offices via phone and email. Because of grassroots pressure, the vote to decide who will sit on the House Appropriations Committee has been delayed until after the Republican retreat on the 24th and 25th of January. This gives us another week to continue the campaign and shows that the momentum is building!

Today we hand delivered a packet of materials to every House Republican. The packets contain a coalition letter from FreedomWorks, NTU, CAGW and the Club for Growth asking each House Republican congressman to get behind Jeff Flake’s effort. We also gave each member a button to wear on the House floor that reads, “Make it Flake.”

Reports from congressional offices have been interesting. Congressmen Boehner, Linder, Cantor, Putnam and McMorris, in particular, have received more calls than they can handle. We are going to hit the California delegation that sits on the Republican Steering Committee hard next week. So far, we have contacted more than half a million conservative voters about this campaign.
