More on McCain
February 8th, 2008 by Peter SudermanPresident Bush spoke at CPAC at 7:15am, an hour when normal people’s brains are still somewhere between gravy and melted ice cream. But it says something about his diminished status that the buzz around the conference today is still all about Romney and, to an even greater extent, John McCain. I don’t have much to say about Romney other than endorsing this post by Chris Orr. (Just read it, I promise.)
Meanwhile, my conversations here indicate (anecdotally, of course) a mix of tentativeness and gradual acceptance to the idea that John McCain will be the nominee. Is he perfect? Not by a long shot. But, as Robert Novak made exceedingly clear in his speech at the banquet last night, there are demonstrable differences between McCain and other candidates. And, as I noted yesterday, the economic policies he proposed at the end of his speech were about as strong as one could hope given his temperament and history. As policy goes, it’s certainly the best that’s being proposed by a serious presidential contender right now.

I’m liking McCain more and more. He’s good on trade, spending, entitlements, he’s reasonable on immigration, and he’s a welcome convert on tax cuts.

McCain seems a LITTLE more trustworthy than he used to come across as, but if Huckabee becomes his running-mate, I will not for McCain.

McCain is PRO killing embryos and PRO same sex marriage. He has written so to me.
He and the Democratic candidates
all three do not have moral viewpoints..

I don’t call hating gays a moral position. Embryos aren’t full-fledged humans, period.

I would like to hear more on Senator McCain’s thought about the war in Iraq,
and imigration policy.
I do not like what I hear about the rest of the canadits and I dont like theirs.
In my own feelings about the war I think we need to stay with this for the reason of denfensive deterant. And on imigration I feel that we need a stronger approach on this than what we have now.

To Anonymous…. You seriously need to have a little more education on issues before jumping to conclusions on someone. Mccain is not “Pro killing embryos”.
Myth 1. Stem cells can only come from embryos. In fact stem cells can be taken from umbilical cords, the placenta, amniotic fluid, adult tissues and organs such as bone marrow, fat from liposuction, regions of the nose, and even from cadavers up to 20 hours after death.
