		<description>Indeed.  It's a shame that today's conservative demagogues, from Podhoretz on down, have repudiated so much for what he stood for.  His criticism of Bush's Iraq adventure led him to be called a "coward" by his fellow "conservatives."  In the end, he was sadly treated worse by the brethren he helped create than by his famous liberal sparring partners---Chomsky and Vidal---to whom he extended every courtesy (and vice-versa).</description>
