Candidate Chris Hackett signs the FreedomWorks No Earmarks Pledge

March 12th, 2008 by Brendan Steinhauser

Today I sat down with Republican candidate Chris Hackett, who is running for the 10th Congressional District in Pennsylvania. He quickly signed the FreedomWorks No Earmarks Pledge and told me that this issue was part of his core campaign message. FreedomWorks has sent the pledge to his primary opponent, Dan Meuser, as well as the Democrat incumbent, Chris Carney. We look forward to hearing from Mr. Meuser and his campaign team on this matter.

Carney was recently quoted on earmarks saying,

We’re proud of the federal investment we’ve brought back, and will continue to fight for our share in the future.

Although we’d love to see Carney support a one-year earmark moratorium, our expectations are low that he will return our signed pledge.
