Obama’s Earmark Benefits His Wife

As things heat up on Capitol Hill over a vote on Jim DeMint’s one-year earmark ban, Barack Obama’s Senate staff has finally released his 2005 and 2006 earmarks requests.
They are all available HERE on the tenacious Chicago Sun-Times reporter Lynn Sweet’s blog.
Lynn Sweet notes that one earmark in particular is interesting.
Here’s one highlight: Obama sought money for the University of Chicago Hospitals. Wife Michelle works for the University of Chicago Hospitals, appointed in spring 2005 as vice president for community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
So much for “changing” the way Washington works. This earmark will obviously raise some questions about propriety and conflict of interest.

Didn’t we already know about this and wasn’t it already discussed on this blog before?

Yeah, I blogged about this a month ago when the Washington Post ran a story.
