FreedomWorks protests Al Gore speech in DC
July 17th, 2008 by Brendan SteinhauserHere are the pictures from today’s protest of Al Gore’s speech in Washington, D.C.
The speech is getting a lot of news coverage, but so far none of the stories I’ve seen have mentioned our protest. But there is no question that the vast majority of attendees saw what we were up to and did NOT like it.
UPDATE: The Washington Times has this story about Gore’s speech, and features a photo of one of our interns protesting.

Protesting the prospect of *true* American energy indepedence…how very un-American of you all…
“he uses more energy each month than the average American uses each year.”
And it’s ALL green, renewable power…so what??

GOOD Summation!
I would add more, but would “edit” it out!

Mister Guy - It’s obvious that you blindly worship at the feet of Mr. Gore, so I almost feel bad about doing this to you. Almost.
Gore’s home is not powered entirely by green, renewable power. Nor does he even claim that it is. A spokesman for Mr. Gore told ABC News that he was “taking steps” to reduce his consumption.

Someone had to say what Al Gore is saying; someone has to be intellectually honest and willing to speak out loudly and clearly as Al Gore is doing.
Emergent and convergent global challenges, ominously looming before the family of humanity on the far horizon, threaten the future of human civilizations, life as know it and the efficacy of Earth as a fit place for human habitation:
the human overpopulation of Earth;
the pending loss of adequate fossil fuel reserves and other vital energy sources due to unrestrained international plundering;
the dissipation of limited resources due to reckless per-capita overconsumption;
the problems of global warming in particular and climate change more generally; and
the insufficiently bridled pollution of air, land and water as well as precipitating irreversible degradation of the planet’s frangible ecosystems services due to relentless industrialization and unregulated economic globalization.
Who knows, perhaps necessary change is in the offing.

“Gore’s home is not powered entirely by green, renewable power.”
Yes, it is, since he signed up for a local program (like a lot of states have BTW) to get ALL of his power from green, renewable sources of energy. When you are generating some of your own power and using renewable sources of power otherwise, what you consume in terms of energy doesn’t really matter much IMO.
The “Tennessee Center for Policy Research” did nothing more than a poorly attempted political hit-job on Gore, which failed miserably given the *real* facts of the matter…lol… “Al Gore’s family has signed up for 100% percent green power through Green Power Switch.” Can YOU say the same??

Thanks for making it easy BTW…
