Here’s an op-ed I published in my school’s newspaper yesterday.
—–
It all began in a place called Hope.
No, I’m not referring to that classic line by a certain incorrigible former president; rather, a guy who really wants Clinton’s old gig.
Mike Huckabee was born and raised in the same small burg - Hope, Arkansas - as [...]

Governor Romney’s healthcare plan is costing taxpayers lots of dough. Hat tip to ABC News The Note.
Romney’s healthcare plan is getting expensive. “Spending on the state’s landmark health insurance initiative would rise by more than $400 million next year, representing one of the largest increases in the $28.2 billion state budget the governor proposed yesterday,” [...]

As I wrote in my personal blog The Conservative Revolution, FreedomWorks chairman Dick Armey appears in the new Citizens United film Hillary: The Movie.
It’s worth watching to remind folks just how power-hungry and ruthless Hillary can be. The recent Democrat debate in Myrtle Beach the other night was also a reminder of how vindictive [...]

No. Really. Looks like French President Nicholas Sarkozy thinks he can argue away his country’s dismal economic reports by measuring the, um, national happiness. ‘
What price happiness? French President Nicolas Sarkozy is seeking an answer to the eternal question so that happiness can be included in measurements of French economic growth.

Just when I thought I couldn’t be more disappointed with the GOP presidential nomination race, I read Mitt Romney’s comments about “bringing back” manufacturing jobs to Michigan.
The Washington Post reports,
As part of his plan, Romney said he would back spending an additional $20 billion over five years to federally fund research on energy, fuels, automotive [...]

Last night, I showed up at East High School in Sioux City, Iowa for the Republican caucuses with Milton Friedman’s book “Free to Choose” under my arm. I was excited to be attending my second caucus.
We filed into the gymnasium with our blue paper ballots and heard a few words from representatives of the candidates. [...]

Tonight is a very important night. Not only will the endless TV and radio commercials finally stop, but I get to caucus! I’ll show up early to East High School in Sioux City- still undecided- to join in the democratic process. I’ll let the campaign members try to convince me. If they don’t, I’m caucusing [...]

Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) is calling for an immediate suspension of the earmarking process after learning that a House Democrat suggested to Speaker Nancy Pelosi that additional earmarks could assist the campaigns of vulnerable Democrats.
“Inherently, we understand that this earmark process is not equitable… There are a few examples of where your [...]

I am watching the Iowa GOP debate now on CNN. I must say, it has been pretty disappointing so far. Here are the lowlights.
1. Sen. McCain is promoting “cap and trade” to deal with “climate change.” He must think that it is okay to purposefully harm our economy and impose regressive taxes, which is exactly [...]

The fundraising and grassroots organizing of the Ron Paul for president campaign are quite impressive. Even the Washington Post has caught on to the “Ron Paul Revolution.”
Reporter Alec MacGillis writes in today’s paper,
With so much money in the bank — and with more expected after another one-day fundraising “bomb” pegged to the Dec. 16 anniversary [...]
